This summer, let your kids’ imaginations soar with Story Time with Nana—a magical 30-minute reading experience set in the heart of the American Windmill Museum!
🌾 Gather under the towering Eclipse Windmill as Nana, a retired teacher with a lifetime of storytelling wisdom, brings books to life with warmth, humor, and heart. Surrounded by miniature trains and the spirit of the Texas plains, Nana’s tales will whisk kids away to far-off lands—all without leaving Lubbock.
📖 Perfect for ages 3–12, but fun for the whole family!

Stick around after story time for hands-on, imaginative fun in our Train Gallery, Mural Room and beyond:

Build your own railway with interactive tracks and trains

• Explore model trains that wind through scenic displays
• 💨 Discover the Wingen turbine and learn how wind powers the world
• 🖼 Take on the “Seek-and-Find” challenge inside the 6,000 sq ft “Legacy of the Wind” mural (where’s Waldo?)
• 🏡 Peek inside Alta Reed’s handcrafted miniature houses, hidden among model trains and showcased under glass
